10 weeks, 3 days....Easter's here

My husband has decided to give quitting smoking another try.  I am, of course, happy about it.  It would certainly make my life easier.  However, I question his motives.  He says if I can do it, he can do it.  This is true, as he has much more calm stubbornness in him then I do. My husband also says that I'm doing it (quitting), and his dad has done it because he just had open heart surgery, therefore if we can quit so can he. So, I'm afraid that he is doing it for reasons other than himself and his own desire for better health.  I could be wrong, but that's what I'm seeing so far.  Anyway, I suppose it's like that show 'Intervention'.  It doesn't matter the reason you choose to stop using your drug of choice, as long as you say "yes" to stopping.  The reasons why will come out later and help you continue on the path to being free from addiction.

So Eater is here on Sunday.  Ya, all that pretty much means to me is that there will be a free meal at the in-law's house.....and maybe a few jelly beans.  Haha, have fun everybody!

  2. Hello Amanda:

I hope that your husband has much success in his attempt in quitting smoking. And I hope that you have a lot of fun at your in-laws.

I wish you well as you continue your education at Kaplan, and I will miss having you as a classmate.

  3. Sometimes it takes someone else to kick start beating a habit. Regardless if he is doing it for you or himself, KUDOs for doing it.

It had to be difficult for you to not smoke when your husband did. And the smell is aweful to a non-smoker.

I remember years ago, in my first attempt to quit when I was still married, my husband smoked and he smelled so bad coming to bed, I nearly had to leave the room.

Good luck to you both. Now that I have moved in with a friend of mine, to quit smoking will not be in the near future. She chain smokes. As soon as I get back on my feet, which means a job, I am moving out and will throw away the cigarettes once and for all. I smoke more now that I am here, and I feel terrible. So I am slowing way down. Pacing myself to only smoke outside, and 3 hours must be between each cigarette. When she gets home from work, it is more difficult.

Hope we continue to blog after class is over. This has been a great stress reliever for me.
